Have you ever chosen an answer, scratched it out because you thought it was wrong, and then had to turn in a messy paper? I would love to help my students avoid that by using mini dry-erase boards during Language Arts, Math, and Theme time. I teach grades 2-3 at a neighborhood school. Teaching the two grade levels together, allows me to partner students better and allow them to learn from eachother.

Using whiteboards will certainly assist with using partners. The students will be able to consult on answers to questions, easily write their answers, and then be able to quickly erase and be ready for the next question. Without the whiteboards, my students have to come up to the board one-on-one to share problems and answers with the class. This takes too much instructional time away. With the personal whiteboards, students could easily hold their answer up and I could do a quick check for understanding.

Having a whiteboard for each student will make guided instruction more hands-on and meaningful for the students. When the whiteboards come with markers and mini-erasers, this helps with time management. Instead of taking the time to make sure everyone has a marker and eraser, the students will already have all the necessary materials in one place.

You could make the difference in my students classroom experience by donating and allowing us the opportunity to have individual student whiteboards. My students are very hands on and would be engaged at just the idea of using their own whiteboard for answers.
