Help 7th Graders Learn Physics By Doing Real Experiments

My students need 13 physics lab materials and equipment to reinforce their comprehension of physical theories and laws.

Mr. T.
Grades 6-8

I teach 12th grade Physics to one section of 7th graders at a science-math-technology oriented middle/high school.

Since our school is a new one, we cannot afford to buy good science equipment. My students are very eager to learn Physics. They are capable of tackling the challenging problem-solving part, but they also want to see the physical theories and laws in action.

The items I have requested are essential to learning about force, motion, and energy. The items include the Atwood machine, impact car, Hall's car, Newton's 2nd Law apparatus, projectile launcher, and a constant velocity car. For example, students will be able to simulate Galileo's free fall experiment by using the projectile motion apparatus. They will be able to see how Newton's 2nd Law affects real-life phenomena by using the apparatus with the same name. By using the impact car, Hall's car, and the dynamics car, students will be able to test the law of conservation of momentum. In short, these tools will help clarify the confusions students normally have when they first learn about the physical theories. They do not struggle with the math portions of the theories since our math curriculum is quite advanced. I would like to receive these items so that they can understand the real-life examples by experimenting with them, manipulating them, and improving them. They will also be able to design their own experiments by using these materials so they get a better understanding of all concepts, theories, and laws we cover in class.

Your help will guarantee that, at such a competitive age among numerous countries doing whatever they can do to become/remain a superpower in the world, so the United States does not lose their leading position.
