Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

I am the science specialist in a Title I School. I teach science to excited young students in kindergarten through fifth grade in an elementary science lab setting.

My students love to be scientists and use the tools of the trade. “Eyes of Observation” is the phrase we use when we are making careful and detailed observations as all good scientists should about objects and the world around us. They enjoy using magnifying lenses, but they would be even more excited if they could use microscopes!

The Magicscopes would be the perfect tool for my young scientists! Research indicates that this particular microscope is the best one to use with elementary students. All my students in grades K-5 would benefit from these scopes for many years to come in our science lab. Just imagine the detailed observations they would be able to make using these microscopes. They would really become scientists! And, remember, observation is probably the most important skill scientists use.

These microscopes will be an invaluable addition to our science lab. Students will be able to make very detailed observations and become even more engaged in science labs. In the age of science and technology, these scopes might just lead some of my young scientists to pursue a career in science as they progress through school!
