Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

I inherited a middle school library from a failing inner city school that just phased out this June. Our school is from grades 6-12.

Failure is not an option! Our high school students, who are mostly from low-income families, should not be penalized because they did not inherit a high school building. There are no high school level books from our students.

The books we are asking for will put our students on an equal footing with students with the appropriate resources for their situation in life. Our students want to go to college; they need the tools to get into the one that is right for each of them.

Your donation can change the lives of our students for the better. The books you are purchasing will allow our students to prepare for the PSAT and SAT, select a college, and find financial aid sources. These are resources most schools that started as a high school have. Do not forsake our students because they are housed in a middle school building.
