Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

In my classroom, we face it all! These students are economically disadvantaged, bi-lingual, special education student with extremely low communication skills.

On our first day of school, one student's face lit up at the prospect of taking his photo for our classroom bulletin board project. He reached for the Librarian's camera and was permitted to take several pictures. He did not communicate or show any other emotion throughout the day. His action made it clear to me that having a camera in our classroom would be high interest for this student and create opportunities for communication.

I need one digital camera for this student in particular, to create photo journals, identify and label common school and community items, and express his creativity on a daily basis.

By donating this camera, you will make it possible for my student to communicate and express himself freely. Thank you so much for your generosity!
