The students in my class are 3, 4, and 5 years of age. Many have severe language disorders and require visual models in order to retell stories and communicate with others. They com from a variety of backgrounds and some have little or no language.

We, as pre K classes, do not get funding from the state. The teachers buy, along with the parents, many of the supplies the children need in order to effectively communicate with others. Our students love to tell stories and retell books we have read, however, their language disorders make that difficult if no visual models are available.

We need one digital camera to take photos of special activities where the children would be performing. We also need a photo printer and photo paper. Our plan is to print photos for the children to use as models for speaking to others about past events and /or stories we have read in class. This is also a great way for parents to be involved in their child's education as they can practice at home.

You will make it possible for my students to effectively communicate with family members, peers and people in their communities which is an amazing thing! These children might nit otherwise be able to perform these tasks and their self esteem might suffer. You will make their dreams possible!
