My students need math manipulatives to solidify the standards and ideas we are teaching them in class.

I teach first grade EIP teacher. This means the students perform at a lower rate compared to other students their age. In my school, we are a low socio-economic status, low functioning school. Many of our students are not capable of getting academic related activities, books, or resources. Our school also has a lack of resources to provide to the students.

My students are hard workers, but without supplies it becomes difficult to allow the boys and girls to "reach for the stars" and explore the wonderful world of mathematics. Although we have some supplies, getting supplies for 25 students or more proves more difficult than I ever thought. My students love learning about math and have showed a great interest in absorbing as much as they possibly can.

With these resources my students will get hands on activities to solidify the ideas I have taught. The fact family chart will help so many of the children make the connection between numbers, fact families, adding, and subtracting. The foam shapes will give a 3D view to learning about shapes, the addition Bingo game will increase their ability to add quickly mentally , the fraction game will create a visual adaptation of fractions, the "How much does it weigh?" and "How long is it?" games will also give students a chance to manipulate different objects, and the skip counting books it provides our students who aren't as skilled in math to read for meaning and gain better understanding.
