I teach middle school special education in a low-income, high-need community school. For this project, I am also working with the entire 7th grade as well my special students.

We've finally found a resource to show kids how our brains work in different ways and how to learn social skills! My special needs kids have always wondered why they have trouble acting "cool" and this book will help them understand how to improve their social skills (and how to accept themselves for who they are!) Plus, the entire 7th grade class will also use the books to learn how to interact with other students and adults.

I am pairing with the 7th grade reading teacher and together we will use this book to complete a month-long reading and social cognition study to empower our students. This book will teach our regular and special education students about social skills and how to improve their skills with each other and the adults in their lives.

Your donation will make it possible for students to understand how to interact with others, and it's presented in a fun and interesting way. Please help us to help our students, you will make a difference in not only our school, but in our community!
