I teach in a low-income area of our city. We are a public Montessori school located in an urban area. My classroom is an early childhood environment servicing four, five and six year old children in pre-kindergarten and kindergarten.

There is little good literature or books available in their homes. I am trying to establish a lifelong love of books and learning. Many of our children are immigrants learning our language. A listening center will provide an opportunity for my English Language Learners to hear the language with CDs and cassettes.

I would like to purchase a listening center that plays cassettes and CDs. Eight children would be able to "plug-in" to the center at one time to enjoy the benefit on a daily basis.

Your donation would make it possible for me to expose this classroom to many types of literature and reach children that learn in different modalities.
