Fun and Fantastic Fairytales!

My students need fairytale stories on book, flannel board character sets, glove puppets, and cassette tapes for our Fairytale unit.

I am a kindergarten teacher in rural West Tennessee. My school population is 950 students. Half of the students receive free or reduced lunch and fees. Our school is located two hours from a major city. Most of my students do not have the opportunity to travel there often.

As part of our state curriculum in Tennessee, our kindergarten students are supposed to be able to recognize fairytales and name some elements of a fairytale. I am getting more and more students each year who do not know what a fairytale is, especially if it was not remade by the Disney corporation. They have never heard of "Three Billy Goats Gruff" or "The Gingerbread Man".

I currently need help with these unfamiliar stories and the supplies. I need copies of the stories on books and audio tapes and I need flannel units to help the students learn these fairytales. The stories will help the auditory learners and the flannel sets will help the visual learners to remember the main ideas of the stories. The sets will also help my students build a foundation for the characteristics of fairytales for their future academic career.
