Creative Communication Through Digital Imaging; teaching students to capture multiple styles of photographic expression through digital cameras and digital camcorders. I teach graphic design, pre-publications, yearbook and digital imaging classes to high school students. My high school is a small rural school with 90 to 100 students.

Digital Imaging is a new class that will help students learn to use digital equipment as well as teach them to capture great photos. Students who participate in this class will have the opportunity to work with 3 professional photographers throughout the school year who specialize in wildlife, landscape and studio photography. The class will also have a photo contest with these professional photographers serving as judges. The class will learn Photoshop CS3 and produce a printed book of images at the end of the school year as a fund raiser to aid in paper and ink expenses. Our school can not provide enough funds to this class to buy the cameras we need to have all of the students experience using digital equipment. I have 14 students with only 1 class camera available with the capabilities to work with lens settings at the present time. The students will share the camera equipment we receive.

The 4 Nikon D60 SRL Digital cameras we need will be a great asset to us and will provide students with hands-on experience. This new digital camera class will provide the basic teaching for students who want to take the Yearbook class in the future.

Your help with this class request will make it possible for students to learn, experience and enjoy working with digital camera equipment as well as give them a life long skill. Your support is most appreciated.
