My students need 9 different math games and center activities that will allow them to master skills while having fun and engaging experiences with mathematics.

I teach the greatest second graders in the world! I am just beginning my fourth year teaching second grade in a Title I elementary school. A majority of my students come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. I have quite a diverse group including students of various ethnicities and special education students.

Like most kids, my students particularly enjoy learning experiences when they are tied to games and interaction with other students. At this time, I have a very limited supply of math games. My students are in need of a variety of math games that will continue to stimulate their minds and allow to practice math independently.

I have chosen a variety of math games that cover some of the most fundamental math concepts in second grade. These concepts include addition and subtraction, place value, and number sense. It is mastery of these skills that will allow my students to experience success with more difficult skills such as multi-digit addition and subtraction, multiplication and division.

Your generous donation will allow an entire classroom of students to develop a lifelong love of mathematics. You will also help develop successful citizens as my students are learning skills now that will last a lifetime.
