Field Trip Safety for First Graders!!

My students need safety, removable name tags to wear when we are on field trips so they can get help if they lose the group.

Safety first! We need some help keeping our first graders safe when we are one field trips. I teach a first grade class in a high-need community.

As part of the first grade curriculum at our school, we believe in taking our students to many different parts of our city to experience and see things they may not be able to at home. Each year we go to music shows, dance shows, plays, museums, parks, and even a chocolate factory! While we usually take a school bus, we have taken the subway several times.

My concern is with safety. I would love to have each student wear a "name tag" with our school name, address, office number, and my cell phone number. With these name tags, if a child was separated from the group, someone would be able to contact the school or myself for help.

At such a young age, the students usually do not know their phone numbers or the school's address. Name tags would be a great safety tool! With your help, I would be able to feel safer knowing my students have the information they need in case of an emergency.
