Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach special education in a large high school in a poor,urban area. Technology is difficult to come by in our school. I teach juniors and seniors that are on a second to third grade reading level.

The obstacle my students face is the lack of technology in the school. My students love to learn, and to read the material I give them in English class. However, they can not seem to retain it unless it is presented in the form of technology.

The specific technology that my students need is a program called Classroom Jeopardy. Classroom Jeopardy is just like the television game show, except that the questions and answers can be modified for any subject and exams given. Classroom jeopardy can be hooked into any television or projector which makes it convenient for the high school environment, having to move from classroom to classroom. Special education students respond well to games, and team work as well as anything visual.

You will make it possible for my students confidence levels to rise, their exam scores to improve and overall for them to have a chance to utilize technology that they would not have had a chance to have if it was not for someone like you.
