I want to provide my students a room with a view by allowing them access to a document camera.

Have you ever tried to get something across to the people you work with without them being able to see it? That is the situation I currently face while trying to teach my 21 third grade students. We are one of the largest elementary schools in our county, however the budget doesn't take that into account. I do not have adequate technology in my classroom and my students have very little to no background knowledge in some areas. That presents a problem when I am trying to give my students the best education possible.

If I had access to a document camera for my students, it would be possible for me to make materials available by projecting the book without having to make a copy of it. It would also be possible for my students to give presentations about their writing and allow the other students to see. This would be a beginning step to preparing them for life in the business world when they get older.
