Hello. I am a first grade teacher. My students usually come to school without their basic supplies. I usually provide them on the first day with a pencil, crayons, etc and a supply list asking for these items and to let their parents know that these same supplies are needed at home in order to complete homework. I am writing this grant for a few basic supplies so that my students will have what they need. I am asking for pencils, crayons, markers and glue sticks to aid in the completion of class and homework and I am also asking for construction and writing paper. I do a lot of hands on activities that require the students to draw or create items and the construction paper is a sturdier paper than the paper they write on or plain copy paper. The writing paper I am asking for will be used to showcase their writing efforts. This paper comes with a guide of how and where their letters should be formed, which is usually very difficult for first grade students for the first few weeks and or months of school. I love to see their little faces light up when they can complete their class work and homework without having to look for a pencil or other supplies. My students and I would greatly appreciate a donation of any of the items on this list. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this proposal.
