Ms. O. Rock Springs Elementary School
Lawrenceville, GA Grades PreK-2

I am a first grade teacher in a growing suburban area. There are a wide variety of students that attend the school, however the students generally fall into middle income.

I am a first year teacher, and I am only given a little bit of money from the state. Unfortunately, I cannot afford to purchase an easel and because it can be such an engaging tool for teaching I will need to have one.

I would like to have an easel in my classroom because it can be used to teach a variety of subject matters, while bringing the class together to learn cooperatively. The easel can be used in demonstrating math problems, reading and writing words, etc. When working with the easel, students will be sitting on the rug, which will give them a much needed break from sitting in their desks. It will give the students a chance to learn social skills and work cooperatively with fellow classmates as they sit and work together. Having an easel in the classroom is also beneficial because it can be interactive and engaging for the students to work with. The teacher can call students up to solve problems.

Your donation will be beneficial to my students because the easel can be used in teaching a variety of subjects. An easel will keep students' interest while teaching because they can work with the teacher and classmates to learn new material, instead of sitting at their desks. An easel is a teaching tool that can be used for many years to come.
