Employers are looking for confident and knowledgeable employees. As educators we must give our students the basic skills needed to survive in the workplace environment.

Not all students have the financial or environmental resources to go to college. Some need to begin working immediately after graduating high school. However, if these students are not given the basic skills to be successful they are going to stumble and fall. Some of the basic resources needed to allow my students to experience what employers today want from their employees are the time clock system, accounting software, and payroll checks.

My project is to design a simulated workplace environment where my students (employees) will practice getting to work on time, "clocking in", receive periodic evaluations, receive bi-monthly payroll checks (prepared by my Accounting II students), and earn bonuses for outstanding performances.

You will make it possible for my students to have this workplace experience and in turn they will be better prepared to compete in today's job market.
