My students need 42 different jazz-themed books, covering greats such as Ella Fitzgerald, John Coltrane, Louis Armstrong and Charlie Parker.

My students love to learn about musicians and their music. Their life stories spark interest when we discuss jazz music in class. To go further, I'd like my students to read jazz-themed childrens books and musician biographies.

Making music come alive happens with audio and video. But it also comes alive through literature. Moreover, tying music and reading together, my students will be gaining literacy skills as well as learning more about music, jazz, and musicians.

Only problem is that I don't have any books to make this happen. With your help, though, my classroom library could contain 42 different jazz books. Including Louis Armstrong, Art Tatum, and Dizzy Gilespie, Ella Fitzgerald, and Charlie Parker, and many more, these books will raise interest and skill in music class.

You can help make this project a reality. Please consider assisting me in bringing jazz literacy to my students. I know that my students will love these books and continue to learn.
