A Needle Pulling Thread (Classroom Projector)

My students need one projector to better view sing-along movies to which we have learned the lyrics (The Sound of Music, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Mary Poppins, The Wizard of Oz, Annie, etc.).

As our school doesn't have a music teacher to work with the primary students, I, general classroom teacher, am charged with the task of teaching low-income, hard-knock, first grade students the California state music standards...I attempt to accomplish this by coupling said standards with a variety of related language arts standards (I teach students to sing and read lyrics from movie musicals).

Our classroom had an out-of-date projector to view lyrics and movies on a large whiteboard, but the bulb burned out in late May...from that time we have had to listen to, read, and watch songs on a 12" apple laptop computer screen (hardly an exhilarating visual or auditory experience).

In order to effectively continue exposing multitudes of students to such wonderful songs and movies, I will need to soon obtain another projector.

When I first interviewed for my job over ten years ago, I was asked "what will make your classroom unique?"..."movie-musicals", I told the panel of questioners...after a bit of explaining, I was hired, and my students and I have never looked back (except with frequent fond memory). Please help keep the action rolling.
