Since first grade is a time of extensive growth in learning, I would like to help parents see their child's small moments that lead to the growth that occurs by the end of school. Living in a rural area where it is necessary for both parents to work, children reading their writing and publishing their writing and drawings online would be a convenient way for parents to keep connected. I believe parents will appreciate seeing a small glimpse into the classroom.
With 61% free and reduced lunches, necessities are bought, rather than "frills". Chances are some children would never get to take pictures with a digital camera or camcorder, so by having such equipment, I could teach them basic photographic techniques they would need. This would create ownership in the web site.
The equipment needed is a digital camera and digital camcorder with a tripod, carrying cases to protect them, and an extra memory stick.
