My students deserve the opportunity to reap the benefits of available technology such as document cameras. My struggling readers will benefit from seeing books, pictures, and many other resources on a big screen. I teach 2nd grade. I have a diverse range of student needs, include struggling readers, English Language Learners, and students with special needs.

Our school does not have as many technology resources as other schools. About 1/3 of our students are on free or reduced lunch. We are not able to raise money to support technology needs.

The document camera will benefit my students because it will enhance their learning by providing visuals immediately for all of us to see, giving us a common experience. It can also provide a common whole class language experience, which would directly benefit my English Language Learners.

Your help would make it possible for my students to share common reading and writing experiences, pictures from magazines and books, photos, science projects, and math manipulatives all on a wide screen in 3-D and color. Any available resource can be placed on the document camera for a whole class discussion. I see this as an extremely valuable teaching tool and I am confident that it will support and engage all of my students!
