Moving Children Into the Future

My students need poly spots, 26 alphabet bean bags, a set of hula hoops, one parachute, and 6 cones to help them line up for games.

Get up and let's boogie. I teach 20 pre-k students (four and five years old) in an inner city school. I have many students who do not speak English as their first language.

My students face many obstacles while in school. Most come from economically challenged families. They are not as active as children 10 years ago. They sit in front of video games and TVs. The students do not get stories read to them or asked how was their day and what did you do. The children need more physical activities in their day. As education is changing to make sure No Child is Left Behind we have cut corners to make sure they have the information needed to pass state tests. As a result are children are meeting physical challenges.

The students need items to help become more active while not losing academics. They need poly spots, cones, bean bags, hula hoops and a parachute. The students will be participating in several physical activities(games)while being connected to academics. They will be participating in physical activities to build community, cooperation, and self esteem as well as learning letters, shapes, numbers, and colors. The children will benefit from the materials in getting them up and moving while still learning. These materials will help the children build self esteem and community and increase their English with their fellow English speaking friends.

It is very important to get the youth of today back up and more physical to build their self esteem and make them better individuals to carry this on into later stages of their life. They need a good foundation that will start with your donation.
