The Internet is the " information super highway" that former Vice-President Al Gore says it is. Without daily access to the computer, students miss the opportunity to connect with engaging web sites that provide interesting background knowledge to topics being studied. An LCD Projector that I can attach to my laptop computer will allow me to share specifically selected information with students on a wealth of subjects. Unlike a computer lab where constant monitoring is necessary to keep students from straying to other web sites, an LCD Projector would allow the teacher to be in total control of what is viewed. It would be an invaluable piece of technology in the classroom. Just imagine if we were studying a topic like the solar system. There are almost 43 million hits on that subject on the world wide web. An LCD projector would be a great tool for evaluating web sites for research purposes!
