For my students, there is nothing more fulfilling than seeing their proud faces while performing at a band concert. Band is important to each of my middle school students (6th, 7th, and 8th). Whether they are rehearsing for a jazz or concert band performance, being a part of the band brings out the best in each student.

When watching the band students perform, most people have no idea what goes on behind the scenes to get ready for the concert. Besides rehearsing every day, the band and I also have to set up the gym for the concert. The band room, where all of the rehearsing takes place, is on the other side of the building from the gym, where the concerts take place. Seven times a year, all of the 80+ chairs and stands need to be moved from the band room to the gym. This takes a lot of man-power, scratches up the floors in the hallways, and takes away from the time we have to practice for the big performances.

Having music chair dollies is a great help when it comes to setting up for concerts. Chairs can be stacked up on the dollies and rolled from the band room to the gym. With these dollies, it would take less time to bring all of the chairs down and does not scratch the hallway floors.

With your help, my band students will be able to focus on what is most important when it comes to band concerts, the music.
