Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

A picture is better than a thousand words! At least it is for my kindergarteners who are second language learners. I teach at a Title 1 school and struggle to help the parents help their children. Most of their families live month to month, trying to make ends meet.

I was amazed at how much faster they learn when I use visuals in my lessons - picture flash cards, drawings, photos, you name it. They also help them stay more focused longer. It's becoming increasingly difficult to create visual resources using my personal printer let alone the school printer with the state budget cut and all.

The resources I need are table top and pocket chart friendly flash cards I can use in my lessons practically everyday. My 5-year old second language learners will benefit tremendously if we have these resources in classroom.
