Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

We are 30 inner city kindergarten children learning about our planet and environment, what man is doing to harm it and what man can do to save it.

Children love the earth, after all don't they love digging for worms, walking through streams, looking at bugs and going to the ocean? My inner city class loves all of these things too and they love to hear stories about all of the above mentioned. Unfortunately, resources like puzzles, books, and journals are not in our school budget.

The resources we need are puzzle sets about Science, plants, seasons, animals, insects and habitats. An ocean animals floor puzzle, draw and write journals (30), jumbo colored pencils and large crayons are needed as well as a Season and Nature paperback library and one Animal Habitats Photo book series. Children will have access to all of the above during 'center' time and when we are working on a topic such as plants or animal habitats.

My class loves it when I bring in new crayons, glue or special pencils for them. Their eyes light up! Can you imagine how they will cheer when they see an assortment of science puzzles, journals and new crayons and a paperback Seasons and Nature library? You will have the chance to see the look on their faces!
