Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My students are reaching for the stars and becoming stars themselves. I teach 8th grade science in a rural area with a high Hispanic population.

Many of the students do not have technology available to them at home and many of the Hispanics drop out of school early. In order to keep them interested we have to hook them in to things that are relevant to their lives.

With a video camera, tripod and disks for storage, my students would be able to create educational video to share with other classes through the Teachertube website. I believe that if they are given the opportunity to explore the world outside our small town that some of the may begin to see the possibilities for their own life. By reaching for the stars by reaching outside our classroom through the Teachertube website they will become stars themselves.

Your help will ensure that my students are able to follow their dreams and reach for the stars.
