Computer Lab Essentials

My students need 2 desktop computers to help refurbish our Cisco lab.

Hopeful high tech high school computer lab needs to upgrade from Windows 98 to Vista or XP. Our computers in our lab are almost as old as our students.

Our students are learning how to build computer networks, but the desktop computers are almost as old as the students. All the desktop computers are running Windows 98 OS, and the CPUs are P III at best. Our students enroll into our networking academy with hopes of learning how to create LANs and WANs. Our routers, switches, and hubs are okay, but the desktop computers that we use are very old and do not work very well. The students in the networking class hope to obtain jobs as network admins while they are pursuing their college degrees. Most of our students do not have any of this equipment at home (especially a computer), so it would be great if someone could help.

I am asking for 2 new computers for now and will hopefully be able to get 5 total over time so that we can fully upgrade our lab. New computers will greatly benefit our students as they will no longer need to work with outdated technology. Right now they are forced to work on computers that have Windows 98 as their operating system. The Acer computers that I am requesting have Windows Vista, so the computers would be the most up-to-date computers that we would have in our entire school.

Your help and/or generous donation will help our students to prepare themselves for college or immediate jobs as networking associates. Please help us move forward with technology so that our students will be better prepared for their future. Thank you.
