Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Sitting still on bottoms is overrated. Young children need to move as they are learning. Kindergartners are very active, and it is hard for them to sit completely still and listen to lessons. They are able to learn more through active learning activities.
My classroom is full of active, happy, smiling kindergarten students at a school located in a city in Northern California.
I have sixteen girls and eight boys. They are all precious and beautiful, with the potential to excel in academics, graduate from college, and have very successful careers. I am the teacher who needs to give them a strong foundation in math, science, social studies, and language arts to make sure their career dreams come true. Active learning is really making sure that these dreams come true.
My Project
My students need a I Can Build Simple Words Center and a Classroom Magnetic Letters Kit for word building and 30 Privacy Partitions for privacy during practice tests. Even my beginners can build simple words with color-coded letters and illustrated activity cards! This Simple Words Center is packed with tons of activity cards and easy-grip foam letters that let kids build words at 2 levels. Beginners match letter to letter to form words step-by-step, while advancing learners flip the cards over, filling in the missing letter to spell each word on their own!
With the giant magnetic letter kit, it will be easy for my whole class to practice alphabet skills! It comes with 240 lowercase magnetic letters. They all come in a compartmentalized storage box with handy labels for easy organization. The consonants and vowels are even color-coded to make word building a breeze!
I will place a partition in front of my students on a desk or table to create an instant, distraction-free environment for literacy and math tests, quizzes and more!
Donations to this project will enhance our active learning classroom by providing the resources needed to allow students to choose active activities to learn academic skills.
They will really love learning withe these activities. They will be having so much fun that they will not know they are learning.
