Many of my students struggle in school, and many of them have given up on being successful. They need any motivation I can possibly provide to read, read, read!
Right now, I have two very old, very worn out bean bag chairs and two very worn and faded pillows. My students would tackle each other to get to them first if I would let them!! It is amazing to see how quickly they want to grab a book and start reading when they have a bean bag chair or a pillow to sit on! However, with only 4 of these in my room, they only get a turn about once every 5-6 days. I would really like to replace these worn out pillows and bean bag chairs with new ones, as well as increase the number that I have so that they get to use them more often. I would love to add new bean bag reading chairs, giant pillows, and soft seats to my classroom. This would give me 8 comfortable seats for my students, so they would get to use one at least every third day, sometimes every other day! They are bright colors, so they will liven up the room as well! With your help, more of my students will have the opportunity to sit or lay on a pillow or bean bag chair during reading time every day! This may not seem like a big deal, but if you could see how excited they get about having that comfortable place to read, you would understand! I can't wait to have the opportunity to send you pictures of my students faces as they sit on the new pillows and bean bag chairs to read! My students need 4 pillows and 4 bean bag chairs.
