My Students

High expectations is a must in my science classroom. As I prepare myself for the future standards to our science curriculum, I realized that real world class projects and presentations are going to be a consistent part of our classroom assignments.

I think our school is West Virginia's best kept secret!

We have students here who have very little in life, and, because of this, they would like to achieve a secure future for themselves. Education is valuable to them. They know that it is a very important component to achieve their future endeavors. As their science teacher, I want to help them achieve success by creating a learning environment where high expectations are a must. We learn through hands on labs, guest speakers, teacher lead and student lead PowerPoint presentations, debates/ discussions on current event issues pertaining to science and visual documentaries with notes.

My Project

I am requesting a lavalier system for the classroom for several reasons. We would use this technology to record teacher and student PowerPoint's. Using the lavalier will add audio narration to a visual powerpoint research project, or teacher lead notes. Guest speakers can use the lavalier for audio clarity and volume. The visit can be recorded and used for future classes if the speaker can't spend the full day with us. Class discussions can be placed on our secure school website so that students can revisit them and discuss with family members at home.

I believe the lavalier presentation system will improve the quality of presentations, lab demos, guest speaker appearances, PowerPoint's, modifications and differentiation in the classroom.

Everyone will be heard! Keeping students attention is a prime way for learning to be achieved! It called neuroplasticity.
