My class gets to work with several special needs Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHH) students. Together we want to make a documentary video on our Therapy Dog, Toby, as he works at our school each day.

My students love working with Toby and suggested creating a documentary. I have no funds to purchase the necessary cameras or camcorders to complete the project. My students need 3 digital cameras and 2 video cameras to write, direct and produce a newspaper and documentary video sharing the interaction between our new Therapy Dog Toby and our school population. We have many special needs students including 12 pre-school to 6th grade deaf and hard of hearing students. We live in traumatic times and our therapy dog helps new students needing mild adjustment and comfort to school as well as helping students deal with sadness and sorrow. Toby is a 3 year old golden retriever. He provides much joy to our students and staff. My students want to share experiences through their documentary.

Acquiring three digital cameras and two camcorders will allow 5 groups of students to document interactions and training of Toby with all ages. All students will have active participation in the process.

Few schools are fortunate enough to have the services of a therapy dog on-site. Your support will allow my students to not only benefit from working with Toby, but allow them to write, direct and produce a documentary that can be shared throughout our community.
