My project needs supplies for me to run my second annual carnival; we have Spin Art machines but need the paint to use with them, and we also need to have playground materials so that we can create games, relay races, and other exercise oriented activities for the children.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am currently teaching the first grade but my project if for all 600 of our students. Most of the students come from the housing projects. They do not often get to have outside play due to safety concerns and as a result many of them simply don't know how to play.
When faced with a life filled with rage, crime, neglect, and challenge students have difficulty breaking out. At school we have implemented a behavior program (P.B.I.S.) as a way to show children that they can be rewarded for making the right choices even when it is hard to choose.
A few of my colleagues and I fought last year to raise money to have a carnival. It was a hope that the carnival would inspire the students to follow our expectations to stay on the path to good citizenship. We were very successful but couldn't accommodate all 600 students with our limited supplies.
This year with help, we hope to increase our carnival to reward all students who work towards following our expectations on a daily basis. We want to see them enjoying outdoor activities, while learning to take turns and share and care for materials. With your help we can make this dream of mine a reality. Thank you for taking the time to read my request.
