Who Done It: A Sixth Grade Mystery

My project needs two DNA Murder Mystery Kits that use DNA fingerprinting simulation to solve a murder!

It was Colonel Mustard in the conservatory with the candlestick! I teach 26 exciting sixth grade students!

Eleven of my 26 students are special education and learn best with hands-on activities. I often find that I don't have the resources to provide the additional materials. Anytime I do a hands-on activities the students are engaged and excited!

Through this hands-on science kit, the class will gain an understanding of how DNA technology capitalizes upon the individuality of gene expression. Given the completely reusable kit, the class is challenged to solve a murder by matching the "pop bead" DNA fingerprints of suspects versus samples collected at the scene of the crime
