Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Hi! I am a recent college graduate and now a first year teacher (so exciting)! I am a second grade teacher in Louisiana

This school was not affected by hurricane Katrina but the students and their families were. Many of them are living in abnormal housing arrangements as an effect of the hurricane.

As their classroom teacher, I feel it is crucial to make them feel as comfortable as possible in our learning environment. My students need a reading rug to allow them to feel more at home. I think that as their comfort level increases so will their grades and outlook at life.

Please help make this class feel like a home for my children. These students have been through a tremendous amount of loss and deserve it now more than ever.
