Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I work in the largest high school in the nation; it's current enrollment is 5,300 students. We receive special money from the state but that money is designated for paying faculty and staff as well as providing the basic necessities.

This is my second year teaching in the honors division of the high school. I have been given the responsibility of teaching Senior Project. This course extends learning beyond the classroom by asking students to apply the skills they have learned over the last four years in a real world setting. My students are tackling community and career projects such as interning in law and engineering firms. The students are also working in community volunteering with the United Way, the Red Cross, Homeless shelters, and hospitals. The students complete a project based in their field and then must make a final presentation to a panel of judges.

A projector would enhance their presentations to the panel of judges. My students have risen above and beyond the Senior Project challenge this year. I am extremely proud of their work and commitment they have made to the community. A projector would enhance their final presentations and really show off their work.

Your generosity will assist me in emphasizing the importance of taking pride's in ones work. In addition, you will enable assist me in showing my students how much I appreciate their hard work and dedication to their projects.
