Our school is a "blue collar" school. Our students come from working families, military families and families that live in projects. We are working on creating an authentic learning environment for our students. We have a working school store, a bank, a green house and garden and a student-run television station.

Our "WBES Crew" is very enthusiastic and creative in reporting what's happening at our school. To do this, they use the movie setting on a regular digital camera and the Movie Maker program to create their news reports. Their reports have really caught on with teachers, they ask our reporters to cover classroom activities almost daily.

We need better video cameras and more of them. The "Flip Video" camera will allow us to take better quality video. These user-friendly cameras are easy to download and edit in programs. Our students have become very adept at covering news in our school. They need more and better equipment to help them do this.

Your help will make a truly authentic learning situation for students. They are doing real-life jobs and using real-life skills, better equipment will make this an rich and authentic learning environment.
