My project needs fun and motivating games on life cycles, habitats, simple machines, weather, classification, solar system, water cycle, and the earth, and plants.
My fourth grade inner city students love science! They are always asking to do experiments. While our district does provide us with textbooks, it doesn't supply us with much else when it comes to science. Yes, we can and do use a lot of everyday household materials to learn about science, but it would be wonderful to have some quality equipment that will last for years to come. With almost all our students coming from very low income households it is impossible to raise money for a project like this.
These science centers and games will allow the students to conduct experiments, pose questions and hypothesize, and follow the scientific method to come to their own conclusions. These interactive science stations will also encourage cooperation and group learning while fitting in with our fourth grade science curriculum. Investigations will be built around the earth, solar system, plants, water cycle, classification, simple machines, energy, and other science topics with the items I have requested.
I know these science games and activities will empower the students to engage in scientific learning and spark their curiosity. I have such an eager group of learners who would love to have access to resources like this. Our students are so passionate about science. With the resources provided through this program we can really bring science to life for these students. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
