Knitters Crave Supplies

My students need supplies for knitting class. This includes crochet hooks and many different sizes of knitting needles, as well as yarn for projects.

My Students

Are you a knitter? Do you have a knitter in your family? Then you understand how addictive and fun knitting can be.

My students are from a large urban area and have a wide range of needs.

Some students can afford to purchase anything they might need for knitting supplies. Others, however, have found that it is a hardship finding even $5 for needles or yarn. All of my students are very enthusiastic about learning to knit and want to make their own clothing and create gifts for people that they love.

My Project

With the yarn and needles that I have requested, my students can practice knitting and crocheting. They can create scarves, hats, and blankets to wear, to give as gifts, and to donate. One of the projects my students are especially excited about is making blankets to donate to the local homeless shelters, and baby hats to donate to local hospitals.

While many knitters learn to knit from their parents or grandparents, most of my students do not have family members who can teach them.

Some students are from other countries where knitting is not common. Some simply have no one close to them that knows how to knit or crochet. The opportunity to create a new generation of knitters is such an honor!
