My Project

Help us get our new theatre program started! This year, students will be diving deeper into puppetry with our kindergarten through second grade students. Through puppetry, students will learn the fundamentals of storytelling while developing their creativity, communication skills, confidence, and ability to work collaboratively with others.

Our youngest theatre students will have the opportunity to bring stories to life by creating and performing with puppets.

They will explore characters, setting, beginning-middle-end story structure, and expressive storytelling while learning how their voices, movements, and imaginations can communicate a story to an audience.

To make these experiences possible, we are also seeking materials that will allow students to build both their puppets and the worlds where their stories take place. Materials such as tissue paper, foam, craft supplies, and other set-building materials will give students the freedom to design creative environments and transform our classroom into a stage. These hands-on materials will encourage students to problem-solve, experiment, and take ownership of their artistic creations.

Your support will help us build the foundation of a theatre program where students can discover that their ideas and stories have value. With your help, our kindergarten through second grade students won't just learn about storytelling—they will become storytellers themselves!
