Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are a passionate group of middle schoolers who love the library! So many of them enjoy coming in and visiting with me, and then the next step is to get creative with how I can get the right book in their hands! Sometimes they are interested easily, sometimes I have to incentivize (hence my needing little prizes). I do many reading challenges and highlighting top checkouts, etc. They love it!

I have also brought back the Battle of the Books team at my school, a fun quiz bowl style competition where students read 16 books and answer trivia questions about them.

I have to supply those books for students as they typically cannot purchase them for themselves. Every dollar makes a huge difference with a future generation!
