My Project

My students are bright, curious, creative seventh graders who come to class ready to learn, explore, ask questions, and work together. I teach 7th grade Science and Social Studies at a high-needs school in North Carolina, where many of our families face financial challenges. Throughout the school year, many students struggle to consistently have access to basic school supplies.

By providing these essential materials in our classroom, donors can help remove a barrier that can make it difficult for students to fully participate in learning.

The supplies in this project—**glue sticks, page protectors, pens, dry erase markers, folders, highlighters, and markers**—will have an immediate and meaningful impact on my students. Folders and page protectors will be used to organize and protect instructions, resources, and activities for class projects, collaborative assignments, and team station work. Dry erase markers will allow students to actively participate in station activities, practice skills, record their thinking, and make revisions without wasting paper.

Students will also use pens, highlighters, markers, and glue sticks to complete and transfer important information and activities into their interactive notebooks. These notebooks become valuable learning tools throughout the year, allowing students to organize their notes, highlight important concepts, review vocabulary, and study previously learned material before assessments. Rather than simply completing an assignment and moving on, students will have a personal collection of resources they can return to whenever they need additional practice or review.

Your donation will provide more than school supplies—it will give my students the opportunity to be prepared, confident, organized, and successful learners throughout the school year.
