Recess Is Serious Business

Help me give my students the equipment they need to make recess more active, exciting, and FUN!

My Project

For our students, recess is more than just a break in the school day—it is a chance to get outside, get moving, laugh with friends, and simply be kids. We want to make sure our students have plenty of fun and engaging options during this important part of their day.

Our recess equipment has seen a LOT of use, and we would love to give our students some fresh, durable equipment to keep the fun going.

This project will provide a variety of basketballs, volleyballs, soccer balls, playground balls, jump ropes, and throw-down bases that students can use during recess.

Having a variety of equipment means students can choose activities that interest them. One group might be kicking a soccer ball around, another might be shooting hoops, while others are jumping rope, playing a game with the bases, or tossing a playground ball. With more equipment available, more students can participate at the same time instead of waiting for their turn.

We are also hoping to add a large collapsible wagon to make transporting and storing our recess equipment much easier. When you have this many balls, jump ropes, and other supplies to move around, having a wagon is a game changer!

Most importantly, this project will give our students more opportunities to move, play, socialize, problem-solve, cooperate, and have fun together. Recess gives children the chance to make their own games, practice teamwork, build friendships, and enjoy being active—and we want to give them the tools to make the most of every minute.
