Help me give my students recess materials that will foster the development of their gross motor skills such as running, jumping, balancing, throwing, and catching.

My Project

Recess is an important part of our school day. It supports both physical and social-emotional development. It is a time when students learn to work and play together, take turns, and communicate with each other, while also developing gross motor skills. The stepping stones, foam pogo sticks, and hopscotch squares and rings will help students practice jumping, hopping, and balancing. Students can practice throwing and catching with the velcro ball set. Bubbles...bubbles are just fun and create a chance to laugh, run, and jump to pop them, and practice breath control.

These carefully chosen materials will help foster teamwork, creativity, taking turns, and problem solving while also promoting gross motor development in my kindergarten class.

Many of my students have never played hopscotch, or they also need to feel their bodies in the space around them as they jump, throw, and spin around.
