My Project

Our low-income, transient elementary school serves students from diverse backgrounds, including many families who experience frequent moves and financial challenges. For many of our students, school may be one of the few consistent places where they have access to quality art materials. We are requesting funding for markers, crayons, and paint to ensure that every student has the opportunity to explore creativity, build artistic skills, and express their ideas through hands-on learning. These essential supplies will be used across grade levels for drawing, painting, mixed-media projects, seasonal activities, and curriculum-connected art experiences.

Providing these materials will have a direct impact on student learning by removing the financial barrier that can prevent students from fully participating in art activities.

Students will strengthen fine-motor skills, practice the elements and principles of art, develop problem-solving and creative-thinking skills, and gain confidence in sharing their ideas. Because our school community is transient, having dependable classroom art supplies allows students to immediately participate and feel connected, regardless of where they came from or how long they have been at our school. This grant will help create an inclusive art environment where every child has the opportunity to create, learn, and experience the joy of being an artist.
