My Project

I am a school librarian and I am lucky to teach all of the students at my school. My students have a strong desire to read and the school library offers them the opportunity to choose books that interest them. My role as a librarian is to provide a collection of materials that are current and high-interest.

The books that are selected for this project will meet the high-interest level as well as provide stories where the students can see themselves.

Reading is not just something that is taught, but a way for a student to learn about their world without needing to leave their school community.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
