My Project

My first graders are full of creativity, curiosity, and BIG ideas! They love opportunities to learn through hands-on activities, build new things, and use their imaginations. This project will provide our classroom with LEGO building materials and everyday classroom supplies that will help make learning more engaging, creative, and fun.

The LEGO sets, baseplates, and idea book will give my students opportunities to build, design, problem-solve, and work together.

We can use these materials for STEM challenges, literacy activities, math practice, indoor recess, morning activities, and other hands-on learning experiences. Students can build something connected to a story we are reading, create structures during STEM challenges, practice teamwork with their classmates, or simply use their imaginations to create something completely their own.

This project also includes supplies that help our classroom function every day. Dry-erase markers are constantly used during whole-group and small-group instruction, while sticky notes are perfect for reading, writing, brainstorming, and quick checks for understanding. The teacher stamps will allow me to provide positive and encouraging feedback on student work. Batteries will help keep our classroom tools and learning materials powered and ready to use throughout the school year.

As a first-year teacher, I am continuing to build a classroom filled with materials that give my students meaningful opportunities to learn, explore, and grow. I want our classroom to be a place where students are excited to try new things, solve problems, work together, and be creative.

Whether they are writing, practicing new skills, completing a STEM challenge, working with classmates, or building their newest LEGO creation, these items are going to make our classroom an exciting place to learn every single day!
