My Project

I have the privilege of working with a wonderful group of students who are eager to learn and succeed, but many face challenges outside of the classroom that can make academic success more difficult. I work at a Title I school where many families experience financial hardships, making it difficult to provide students with even basic school supplies.

As the new AVID teacher, I will help students develop important skills such as organization, focused note-taking, time management, goal setting, collaboration, and critical thinking.

These skills will help students become more independent and successful learners throughout middle school, high school, and beyond. Having access to basic supplies such as notebooks, folders, binders, pencils, highlighters, and other organizational materials will allow students to practice these skills every day.

I would also like to create a positive reward system in my classroom. Like many Title I schools, we experience behavioral challenges, and recognizing students for making positive choices, showing growth, completing their work, staying organized, and treating others with respect can make a meaningful difference. For some students, a small prize, snack, or reward may be something they rarely receive. More importantly, these incentives give me an opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments and remind them that their hard work matters.

My goal is to create a classroom where students feel supported, prepared, and motivated to succeed. Your support will help remove some of the barriers my students face while providing them with the tools and encouragement they need to develop strong academic and organizational habits. Together, we can help these students build confidence, take ownership of their learning, and develop skills they can carry with them throughout their education and into the future.
