Making My Nurse's Office Efficient!

My Project

Lots of my kids come with cuts and scratches to their elbows and knees, given they’re elementary aged. We blew through our supply of large Band-Aids last year and will be in need of some this year. We have made do with layering smaller bandages, but that depletes our total supply. There is not a sink in my office, so things like baby wipes help me clean wounds and skin more quickly. I can also refrigerate them to provide cooling relief from the heat and avoid having to hand out so much ice, which is a classroom distraction. Cups and water bottles are fantastic to ensure children with medical necessity have a permanent bottle at school or can get quick access to water from the fountain under my watch. Puke bags speak for themselves. Not having to change the trash bag so often is a win!

I hope to create a small “self care station”, some of which has already so generously been donated by my community.

Deodorant will be excellent to add to this. Body changes, including new odors, can be quick and surprising to this age of kiddos, so I will be appreciative of being able to assist with understanding and alleviating that.

A few pieces of our equipment are wearing out, so I am hoping to replace the Pulse Oximeter to get accurate readings!
